{floral friday #44}

13

One of my favorite things about having a {floral friday} on this blog each week is, I get to have these beautiful flowers in my home for a while. Especially in the winter time it brings my mood up to have a dash of color in the house. :)

This week’s flower I want to share with you is the freesia.

A few facts about freesia:

  • Freesia are named after the German physician Dr Friedrich Heinrich Theodor Freese.
  • In the language of flowers, freesia are said to symbolize innocence and friendship.
  • Freesia is the 7th wedding anniversary flower.
  • The flowers come in a great variety of colors. White, yellow, orange, pink, red, lavender, purple and bicolors.
  • Freesia are very popularly used in perfume, scented oils and baths. {source}

{valentine’s pie hearts}

40

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and for that occasion, my mom and I made our first pie! :)

Not an ordinary pie though — a heart shaped pie. On a stick! Is there anything better than food on a stick?! This treat is guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face receiving these little pie hearts as a Valentine’s gift!

We also created a dessert version of it, using heart shaped metal molds, allowing for a little more filling than the version on a stick. Yum!
