This week’s {floral friday} is brought to you by my wonderful mom. She’s an amazing photographer and enjoys taking pictures of pretty flowers as well.
Lucky me! I get to share them! ;)
Don’t those anemones have the most beautiful color? I need to find some myself to decorate with..
A few more facts about anemone flowers:
- The name anemone comes from the Greek word “anemos”, which means wind and is sometimes called “windflower”.
- Thought to bring luck and protect against evil, legend has it that when the anemone closes its petals, it’s a signal that rain is approaching. {source}
- In medicine, anemone is used as a treatment for cramps, menstrual problems and emotional distress. {source}
- Anemones have a vase life of 5–8 days.
I’m partying here! ♥

Bardzo lubię anemony, ale w ogródku nie chcą mi rosnąć. Zdjęcia tych pięknych są po prostu śliczne. Pozdrawiam.
I really like the anemones, but they do not want my garden to grow. Photos of the beautiful are just beautiful. Yours.

Just gorgeous photos and flowers!! I planted some last fall and finally got to see 2 this spring so far. The one that’s left is fading to a lavender color now yet still pretty.

I so love anemones, they are such a beautiful flower. Can I borrow you Mom to come on over and take a few picture? I promise not to keep her long. the blue color is absolutely beautiful. Love being on the floral Friday journey with you! Thanks for sharing you creative inspiration at Sunday’s Best Par.tay!
I love how you always include botanical information and mythical lore about your Friday flowers. I’m always learning new information in addition to learning the names of the gorgeous blossoms you select each week. On this one, I love that little ruffle of green leaves beneath its neck, sort of like a pretty collar :) You and your mom are truly gifted photographers — wonderful post! xo, diane
