Welcome to this week’s {floral friday}!
Thanks to my wonderful my mom, I have another fun plant to share with you today — the crabapple! She bought a branch just before Christmas and not only was it baring tiny little apples, it also started to bloom after a few days in her cozy house. Beautiful!
A few facts about the crabapple:
- Crabapples are versatile, small, ornamental trees used in the urban landscape.
- Trees only produce fruit after they have had flowers. The ornamental fruit of a crabapple puts on a show during the fall and winter. Fruits vary from less than ¼” to 2” in diameter. {source}
- Both apple trees and crabapples have clustered, five-petaled blossoms with 15 to 20 yellow stamens in the center. {source}

I’m partying here! ❤

How very pretty. I would never have thought to put a branch in a vase, nor expected a crab apple to flower inside. Such beautiful photos.
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! :)

The weather over here actually has been more like fall for the last few weeks. Not the nice crisp air fall, though. Rainy and gray.. :(
So, I’m ready for spring as well, hehe.
Have a wonderful week!

How beautiful these white little flowers are. The last picture I love, the effect of close ups of white flowers is dreamy and fairy. Lovely pictures Vanessa!

We have crabapples around here, but I’ve never looked at them from this perspective before. They are lovely!
