{china cabinet}

A couple of months ago I found this little 50's/60's china cabinet on the local eBay classified. I just couldn't pass up the 20€ (~ $28)  deal!

The hubby and I were on the same page about the style and decided to take on the 80km (~50 miles) road trip to pick it up in the little coastal town Bremerhaven.

I liked everything about the cabinet - expect for the back. It's made of flimsy imitation wood and I just did not like the looks of it at all. So, I searched for cute wrapping paper (for weeks), until I found this pretty pinkish-grey paper a couple weeks back.

I used double-sided tape to adhere it to the back and voilà! - itty bitty makeover that still made for a huge change and improvement! I'm in love with it!

    I love it and that you did NOT paint it! Double sided tape, eh? I might try that in my china cab. Well done.

    When I saw the thumnail on Funky Junk, I thought, "Please please please tell me that she kept this AMAZING finished!" lol Wow! I would have driven the miles too. Seriously, what a treat to see such a 'creature.' Love the addition of the paper and what a smart choice to use the tape. Less permanent incase you want something new later on…. Thanks for sharing this today. It made me smile!:)

    I like that this was such an easy makeover. You kept its style and I like the style it is. I like the wrapping paper you chose too and what is nice is when you want a change all you have to do is look for new wrapping paper.

    I, too, found a great mid-century cabinet piece at one of our local thrift stores and bought it for a song. Three years later, it is still MY FAVORITE piece!
    Your wallpaper upgrade is a smart and lovely touch–and I like how you can change it out if the mood suits you. Great find and great makeover!
