Happy Friday and welcome to another Floral Friday!
This week’s featured flower is the bleeding heart (or according to wikipedia also named: lady in a bath, which brought me an “awesome” result in the google image search. haha!).

A few facts about the bleeding heart:
- The bleeding heart is a spring flower and will die in the summer. Its beautiful bloom will return every year.
- All parts of the plant are poisonous and may cause skin irritation.
- Bleeding hearts love partial or full shade.
I’m partying here.

Freitag, der 29. April 2011 at 20:56Vanessa, so sorry about that. I am not sure why my wordpress profile information doesn’t get stored in my blogger comments when I select the open-ID option. Mysteriously vanishes. But thank you for your persistence! I tried growing bleeding hearts one year, but failed miserably. I have better luck with hearty plants, the ones that can survive the rigorous Texas summer. This year our flower beds are gorgeous, well, at least compared with last year. One of my longtime favorites is a pretty little mounding plant commonly called ‘blue daze’ with sweet little blue flowers. Again, thank you for your tireless search!! ~diane (poindextr.wordpress.com)
