{homemade rum truffles}

{homemade rum truffles}

Around Easter, my mom and I experimented a little with cake batter made from scratch. We didn't follow any recipe, instead used what we had on hand and ended up with a yummy coconut-almond poundcake.
We had so much cake that we decided to freeze half of the cake to use for making rum truffles and last week was the day of days. ;)

They turned out extreeemely yummy!

What you'll need:

  • leftover cake, crumbled
  • cocoa powder
  • rum (if you want to make it child-safe, try using rum flavor)
  • chocolate sprinkles
{homemade rum truffles}

How to:

  1. Combine the cake crumbles with cocoa powder and rum.
  2. Roll the mixture into little balls.
  3. Roll into chocolate sprinkles and let dry. If the sprinkles don't stick, try rolling the balls in a little water or sugar-water first.
  4. Yum! ;)

    These look heavenly. I'm not a rum drinker, do you have any suggestions for what kind to buy?

    I just put some cake in the freezer – this recipe is perfect for it.

    Thanks so much.
    Warmly,
    Nicole
