Yum!!! I have one of those irons buried in the basement somewhere. Going to have to dig that baby out for Easter brunch!

They’re so pretty. I have never seen or heard of using irons before. I am going to keep my eye out for one.

Thanks for sharing! Brought back wonderful memories from when Mom use to make them and us girls would eat them as fast as they would cool.

Almost to beautiful to eat, but since I am a waffle lover, I would have to dig in. Have never heard of that type of waffle iron before. Very interesting!

In Ohio, Sugar Waffles are one of the most popular treats at festivals and county fairs. My favorite. When I moved to Indiana, no one seemed to know what they are. Finally, when it came up again today, I found a photo. Now everyone wants to try them. I have a small rosette iron, but at fairs the waffles are so much larger I haven’t tried my iron. I have found a company very near where I grew up in Ohio that has the larger irons…now I’m on a mission.

I found this iron thing for the waffels in our household supply store and always hesitated if I should buy that piece. But if you tell me the waffles are tasting so well then I will go and get that and give it a try. They’re looking so very old-fashioned and lovely.
