I love flowers and the variety of color and shape they come in!
They make me smile and make the grey winter days a little brighter.
Every Friday I will try and feature a flower to share with you — for a colorful start in the weekend.
I’m starting with a cheerful reminder of spring: tulips that I bought a couple days ago and which are starting to opening up a little now. I love how whimsical the shape of the stems is, yet, how strong they are to hold their big beautiful heads up high.

Friday February 4th, 2011 at 06:37 PMI loved the facts you provided about Tulips.…most I did NOT know.…all I knew was that I LOVE, LOVE Tulips!
On Monday, this week, I designed (as best I could) a blog for my sister & I…web address is okiesisters.blogspot.com, but I decided to title the blog “Thrifty Nifty Sisters”…when I found your blog (from a comment you made on Thrifty Decor Chick) I felt sorta like I’d found a ‘kindred spirit’ with the blog names being so similar. I am super impressed with your blog (the design, pics, writing)…hope you don’t mind two old ladies stalking you (for learning purposes).

Friday February 4th, 2011 at 08:17 PMLove tulips!! They were always my favorite when I lived in FL, but they wouldn’t grow there b/c it’s so warm. Now, I live in OH and can see them every spring! Thanks for sharing! Following now through the boost my blog hop!

Friday February 4th, 2011 at 09:44 PM@Heavenly Savings: Thank you for your comment and for directing me to your blog! I’m a new follower as well! ;)
@brenflag: Thank you soo much for your sweet comment and thank you for the compliment on my blog. English not being my mother tongue, I always get a little insecure about my writing and hope that I don’t write like a child.. I’m really glad you like the blog! Oh, and I don’t mind being “stalked” at all.
@Michelle: I know what you’re talking about. I lived in Houston for 2 1⁄2 years and the humidity and temperature is crazy over there. Being back in Germany now, I realized how much I missed seeing all the different types of tulips! :)

Saturday February 5th, 2011 at 05:09 PMGreat post & images! I love tulips! I wanted them in my wedding but decided against it because of the quick “wilted-look” after they’re cut.
Just wanted to let ya know I’m a new follower and that I nominated your blog for the stylish blog award.
