A few facts about the passion flower:
  • Passion flowers are known to have a high medicinal value and are popular for treating nervousness and insomnia.
  • They are noted for their beautiful flowers and edible fruits.
  • The passion flower can bloom all year round if planted in the correct climate.
  • The plant was named “passion flower” by Spanish explorers who thought that its flowers resembled three nails and a crown of thorns, reminding them of the Passion of Christ. (source)

@ Paula Jo: Thank you so much for your always so sweet comments! :) I heard that you can grow the passion flower from just the seeds. Maybe you should give it a try in Texas — who knows? ;) I hope you have a wonderful weekend! xoxo
