{floral friday #19}

Welcome to this week’s {floral friday}! Yet another flower I photographed in my mom’s beautiful backyard — shasta daisies.

A few facts about shasta daisies:
  • The Shasta daisy is named after Mount Shasta in northern California. The word “daisy” originally meant “day’s eye” and was used to refer to the sun-like appearance of the flower. (source)
  • Daisies in general are native to Europe and were brought over to America for decoration.
  • Shasta daisies are easy to grow.

I’m partying here! ♥

    I’ve always loved Shasta Daisy’s. They are so dainty, and go with just about any bouquet. I didn’t know that they came from Europe. Thanks for the information on them. I learned something today.
