Happy Friday and welcome to this week's {floral friday}!
What do you have planned for this weekend? ;)
Today is the autumnal equinox, which officially marks the first day of fall in the northern hemisphere.
Ironically, today it's warmer and sunnier here than it has been in the last few weeks of summer..
But you can see the changes. The leaves on the trees are starting to turn color and the roses are transforming into little buds. The rose hips begin to ripen and are getting full and juicy.

A few facts about rose hips:
  • Rose hips are used for herbal tea, jam, syrup, pies, bread wine, soup, jelly, ...
  • Rose hips have a particularly high concentration of vitamin C.
  • The fine hairs inside rose hips can be used as itching powder.

Die wenigsten wissen, dass Schnecken total gut klettern können. Habe sie schon an erstaunlich hohen Stellen gesehen.

One of my favorite memories is of cross-country skiing (in Canada, where I grew up) and stopping in the middle of the forest in a snowstorm to make rose hip tea. So beautiful!

I never knew that about the itching powder! I wonder if that's what they used to use in joke packs for kids (I remember having those at school!)

I always learn some new interesting facts from your floral Friday posts! Thanks for sharing!
