{floral friday #69}

Welcome to this week’s {floral friday}!

I know I’m posting a little later than usual today, but things are a little crazy around here right now. So crazy, that my beautiful mom is helping me out with today’s {floral friday}. She took these wonderful picture if this pretty Delphinium flower. Don’t the pictures look like paintings?! Beautiful!

A few facts about Delphinium:

  • Delphiniums are a genus of around 300 species in the ranunculaceae family.
  • Delphiniums are also known as larkspur, lark’s claw, lark’s heel and knight’s spur.
  • The name comes from the Greek word “delphis” — meaning dolphin.
  • The most commonly used flower is the delphinium staphisagria, which is thought to be helpful in curing diseases or irritations of the reproductive system, as well as aiding in mental and acute respiratory ailments. These flowers may also be used to repel pests such as lice, and are thought to have a curative effect on scorpion stings. {source}

I’m partying here! ♥
