Hello Nifty Thrifty Followers!

I’m Shannon from Imperfectly Inspired, a fairly new blog about crafting, DIY, cooking and more. Originally from Colorado, I’m currently a full time nanny in Atlanta. Since graduating college, moving across the country, and most recently, moving in with my boyfriend, I have become inspired to learn to be domestic. I’ve followed a bunch of blogs for a few months, and only recently started my own. I really really love it and I’m so happy to be here.

This is me!

I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite projects so far. All three of them are crafty, easy, and displayed on our walls.

While we were decorating our apartment, I got to make most of the decisions. I had seen gallery walls popping up all over Blog Land and Pinterest and finally did one myself… but there were a few pieces missing/I didn’t like what was in some of the frames. For this project, I made my own picture frame mat around my grandparents wedding photo. It is my VERY FAVORITE project that I’ve done (so far). It has a  very unique texture and most importantly, it is a beautiful family picture. You can check out the tutorial here.

The second one I wanted to show you is also on my gallery wall. If you are on Pinterest, then I’m sure you’ve seen some of the awesome map art going on there (Feel free to check out my boards, for some examples). Anyhow, I really wanted to do something with a Colorado map… but in case you’re not familiar with the shape of Colorado- it is not exciting.

I had a float frame that I’d bought awhile back for a project I never did (figures), so I grabbed that and the State Farm Atlas in my car and went to work.
Easiest art project ever.
And my last one is one of the very first posts I did (so don’t judge it if I look like I don’t know what I’m doing… because I didn’t/still don’t). I did a painting for my boyfriend for our first anniversary. It was my first real painting. It’s simple and cheesy and elegant all at the same time. And best of all, it fits perfectly in our home.

I am so thrilled to be sharing my favorites with you. I am so happy in this phase of life, and I’m really enjoying sharing my ideas and projects with the world. A HUGE thanks to Vanessa for letting me guest blog while she’s in Texas. I hope you’ll stop by my blog sometime to check it out!
