Ella is right at 10 months old and has been sitting at the dining table with us for a few months already. Up until now, she had to make do with a wooden high chair (that we found on the street and prettied up with some paint) from a well-known Swedish furniture company.
Even though we were happy about the find and the overall looks of the chair, something was always missing. What we missed most about the high chair was an adjustable foot rest. The one on the chair is fixed and Ella is unfortunately not big enough to reach it yet. So her feet were always dangling in the air. For a good balance of a baby's trunk and fine motor skills of tiny hands however, it's extremely important that the feet are well supported.
Have you ever sat on a tall bar stool without a foot rest for a longer period of time? Uncomfortable and wobbly, right?
What we also missed was a table for the chair. Even though Ella sat with us right at the table, it was never really that comfortable for her. The dining table is a bit too high and too far away from her, so she always had to lean over.
The high chair was securely packaged and delivered disassembled. Putting the chair together is fairly easy and quick though.
Ella tried out her new high chair right away and savoured some delicious vegan baby pancakes.
Test result: ★★★★★! (For the high chair and the pancakes. ;) )
You'll find the recipe at the bottom of the post.
The seat cushions make the high chair even more comfortable and secure. You can also purchase a safety belt, for the climbers under the babies, and a tray top that makes cleaning after a messy meal even easier.
The high chair is suitable for babies 6 months & up and is fully adjustable to adapt for your growing child.
If you'd like to use the high chair from birth on, Kidsmill got you covered. The newborn seat hooks right onto the chair and also doubles as a bouncer when used with the bouncing frame. I was almost a little sad that Ella is already too big to sit in the newborn seat. ;)
The feet can sit securely on the foot rest and give the needed stability while eating.
The high chair comes in 6 different colors. Black, solid grey, greywash, white, natural or mint? There's a color for every interior!
The bottom line: A Really stylish and sturdy high chair, that will stay with us for a long time!
*Disclaimer: I received the high chair from Kidsmill free of charge.
