{nifty thrifty sunday #185}

Welcome to this week’s {nifty thrifty sunday}!

Oh my! Where does time go?! How is it already 2015??

I really want to apologize for having been absent from the blog for the past few weeks.

It all started with my birthday, which was on Dec. 15th. I had so much to prepare, that I honestly didn’t get around to starting up the link party..
And then came Christmas.. I have been off work for the past 2 weeks and have been enjoying not having to think about work, so I decided to take a little break from my blog as well and just recharge my batteries.

I took some time to visit my 92 year old grandma in Berlin and we spent some quality time, just the two of us, going through my family’s past. We read almost 100 year old letters that my great-grandparents sent each other daily when they first met in 1918. It was so much fun to learn more about my family and see how dating went about 100 years ago. Even though a little more formal than nowadays, things really haven’t changed that much. ;)

Well, and now — hoping people still show up — on to the party! Thank you SO much for stopping by!!

Here are some of my favorites from last week’s {nifty thrifty sunday}:

    Happy New Year! I’m so happy for you and your special time with your grandmother…such a blessing. I have so many questions for mine now that I am older but they are gone. My great grandmother was 100yrs old when we lost her. Thank you for the cheery link party! Lisa

      Thank you so much for your sweet words and stopping by the party, Lisa! :)
      Wow! 100 years! If my grandma is feeling well enough, I would love for her to live to that age. Don’t even want to think about not having her around..
      Happy New Year!

    Vanessa, How fun! We are Birthday Buddies! I celebrated my Birthday on the 15th, as well. I know exactly how you feel with the time crunch, and Christmas creeping up. I’m so glad, though, to read that you had precious time with your Grandma. Nothing beats the time we spend with our families. Thank you so much for taking the time to host your beautiful party.

      It is a little close to Christmas for my liking though, hehe.

    I did not link up as I am not crafty but I did check out several blogs and post on yours as well and I had a lot of fun looking around. I can not wait to come back.
