Welcome to this week’s {nifty thrifty sunday}!
I’m so happy to see you here again this week! :)
I can’t believe that the first week of my maternity leave has already come and gone. The big day is moving closer and closer.
But, we’ve actually got a few things accomplish this past week and have rearranged our bedroom to make room for a changing table, co-sleeper bed and so on.
What still gives me headaches is the clothing issue though. It’s SO overwhelming to prepare for a tiny person — especially one that’ll be born in winter — that you don’t know anything about yet.. We don’t know what it’ll be and also not how small (or big) it’ll be. Phew! So, any advice is really welcome! Haha
But now, on to the party! Let’s see what you’ve been working on this past week.
Here are some of my favorites from last week’s {nifty thrifty sunday}:
{1} Delightful E Made: Starbucks Copycat Salted Caramel Mocha
{2} Annie’s Noms: Apple Pie Overnight Oats

{3} Lemon Thistle: DIY Dip Dye Party Horns
{4} Shaken Together: Cheesecake Banana Splits

{5} Honey & Birch: Salted Chocolate Granola
{6} Three Kids and a Fish: Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream

Sunday October 18th, 2015 at 08:25 PMI know that preparing for a baby can be overwhelming. Being a mother of two boys, I think that what you mainly need for the first months are onesies (a few shorts sleeves and a few long sleeves), pyjamas (a few in cotton-for daytime- and a few warmer-for the nights) and a few blankets (one or two light and one or two warm). I’m not one to put new borns in fancy clothes. Pyjamas are much more comfortable. The first few months are mainly spent sleeping and drinking milk. Or being held in a rocking chair. They love being wrapped in a blanket as it makes them feel secure. I don’t know how cold it gets in Germany, but here in Canada, a warm pyjama and a fleecy blanket was perfect to keep babies warm in the night, for the little time they spend alone in their beds. Mine woke up a lot at night so they ended spending most of it in my arms. lol I would get a warm baby “snow suit” for when it’s time to go outside. You can contact me if you have questions. :-)

Tuesday October 20th, 2015 at 12:01 AMOh, thank you SO much for your sweet comment and helping me out with the clothing issue. :)
I had my mom over yesterday and she told me I needed underwear, tights, pants, socks and a light jacket to have one outfit. That really got me overwhelmed, because I didn’t think they needed to wear that much. But, then again, the last time my mom dressed a newborn in wintertime was almost 33 years ago, when I was born. So, I’m sure the recommendations have changed since then.. ;)
I’m pretty sure I’m almost set with clothes then and will just see what else I need once the baby is here.
Thank you so much again for your help! I really appreciate it.
XO’s to Canada. Have a fabulous week!

Tuesday October 20th, 2015 at 01:48 PMYou’re very welcome! Your attitude is the right one, you’ll certainly know once your baby is born if you need anything else. And if your mother is near, you’re all set. Have a great week!
