{stamping fever}

{stamping fever}
After thinking I made it through the flu season savely, I got struck down by it this past weekend..
I went to the doctor today to get something against the fever and felt better after taking some medicine.
Being tired of sitting/laying/napping on the couch, I decided to work on a little project. I made my own rubber stamps. I've seen this idea here and there and thought I'd give it a try.
I'm sure I could have thought about some more creative cuts, but my feverish mind was limited today. I may go into a second round with this in some future project. ;)
What you need for this project:
  • x-acto knife
  • pencil
  • erasers

    I love this idea, and your stamps are very cute! Was it hard to do? How long did it take per stamp?

    Thanks!

    Your awesome comments really make my day!!
    I'm starting to feel better, too. No more fever and my nose almost stopped running. ;)

    @ Lauren: The only tricky part about doing these stamps is carving the inner and delicate parts. I think for future stamping projects I will try to find a linocut knife. I remember using it in highschool and think it would work well on those rubber stamps as well.
    It took me about 5-10 minutes per stamp, depending on the design on it.

    totally fabulous idea – I love the irregular effect you get from stamped color transfer. Your hand cut stamps are gorgeous! I've been thinking about trying wine corks as stamps. Haven't attempted anything yet…. :)
