{type case project}

I finished my type case project and I love it!
It looks great against our grass green kitchen accent wall. Now I just need to gather a few little things to put on the little shelves.

{type case project}

I started the project last Saturday and was certain I would get it done by the end of the weekend. Well, as with probably every project, things happen to prevent you from meeting your "goal".
For me this time it was paint drying time, having to paint about 5 coats, and then running out of paint. And that on a Sunday. Which in Germany means, no stores are open but gas stations and the flower shop in the nearby hospital. Well, neither one sells paint. So I had to wait till Monday to get more of my "titanium white".

This is what it looked like, running out of paint.

{type case project}

And this is the finished project. I used white acrylic paint and then glued wrapping paper cutouts in the back of the little shelves. A very decorative, but thrifty project.

    Well, thank you all for your lovely comments!

    @ Alisha: I will post an update, once I figure out what I want to fill it with. It's not an easy task. Some of those little shelves are only 2x2in..

    @ Katie: I love yours!! I love the idea with the fabric in the back of the little shelves, too!

    So pretty! I love the colors in the paper you used. How long did it take you to cut them all out?! Will you share at my linky party today?

    @ Rachel: Cutting out the paper didn't take too terribly long. Fortunately a lot of the little shelves were the same size, so I could cut one out in the right size and then use that as a "cookie cutter".
    I'm partying at your link party now. Thank you for sharing! Great little space on the internet you got there!

    @ mrs. fisher's finding: I found the type case a couple weeks ago at the local flea market for 1.50€ (about $2.00). I haggled the price down from 3.00€. I love haggling. Haha
