waffles with a twist: waffle drops from {nifty thrifty things}

I really, really love these little waffles with a twist!
My mom and I found this recipe in a magazine from a local grocery store, that always has
the yummiest recipes and we just couldn't wait to try this one.

They're easy to make and oh-so-easy to eat. ;)

  • Yield: 70 (4 Servings)

adapted from Edeka "Mit Liebe", No. 2 März/April 2014

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter {150g}, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sugar {50g}
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tbsp. milk
  • 1 3/5 cups flour {200g}
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream {50ml}
  • 1/3 cups sour cream {80g}
  • blueberry jam

Instructions

  1. Mix the butter with sugar, vanilla and a pinch of salt and beat till creamy.
  2. Add the egg and milk and mix until well incorporated.
  3. Combine the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl and add to the batter little by little. Set aside for 15 minutes.
  4. Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Place little drops - about the size of a hazelnut - onto the waffle iron. About 4-6 drops, so they don't touch.
  5. Whip cream until stiff and add the sour cream. Mix in 2 tbsp. sugar.
  6. Serve the waffle drops with the cream mixture and blueberry jam. Yum!

    That’s a really good idea, reminds me of poffertjes at the fairground.. And for the first time I am realizing that your mom also has a blog! With equally pretty photos!

      Yum! Poffertjes!! Ich freu mich schon auf die Osterwiese, damit ich endlich mal wieder zuschlagen kann. Hehe
      Bis dahin waren die Waffeldrops wirklich eine tolle Alternative.
