Rainy Day Activity with a Toddler - a visit in the Botanical Gardens from {nifty thrifty things}It’s here: Cold, rainy, foggy fall weather. Every day, the sun goes down a little bit earlier and after the third rainy day in a row, you ask yourself: How do I keep my toddler entertained when we can’t be outside all day?

A couple weeks ago, we used one of those overcast and misty days to visit the botanical gardens (Botanika) here in Bremen, which is a wonderful place to slow down and being transported to a different world.

Together with Oma, Ella and I spent a wonderful day discovering different kinds of plants, counting hundreds of butterflies and watching the little monkeys play. We even watched the Koi being fed and Oma was so brave to feed them herself by hand.

For lunch, we went to the adjacent restaurant and afterwards took advantage of a break of the rain and went for a walk through the park, so Ella could take her nap and my mom and I could catch up.

We carry our Quinny stroller in the trunk of our car at all times to have it ready when we’re out and about. The stroller can be folded down so small, that it doesn’t take up  much room in the car and is really convenient for long walks and especially naps for Ella.

Ella fell asleep after just minutes, exhausted from all the new impressions and slept through the whole walk. She didn’t even notice when it started sprinkling again, thanks to the rain cover.

It looked so cozy and cuddly in her stroller and I have to admit, I was a little jealous.. Who wouldn’t like being able to sleep in the fresh air; warm, dry and watched after from your loved ones?

What an awesome stroller! I totally remember walking my baby around my house in the stroller when the weather was bad. I used to just go around and around on the hardwood floors! Yours was a much better option! lol

Oh my, I remember those days when Ella was still little and I would push her around in her pram, or wrap her to me and walk up and down.. ;)
Thank you for your sweet comment, Debbie!

Wow! What beautiful gardens! And I love the Quinny, I was always checking in out when my daughter was little in the UK. They were defo the stroller to have… I’m not sure if I’ve seen them in the US but maybe that’s because this time around I needed the double stroller and well… those are never quite as graceful, lol!

Definitely the stroller to have! ;)
Oh wow, twins.. I bet that’s hard to find a stroller that will still fold down small and look good.
      I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
